BULLY GO HOME

MISSION:

At Bully Go Home, our mission is to raise awareness, educate, and empower children with effective, proactive strategies to combat bullying. By teaching these principles early, we instill values that carry into their teenage and adult years, fostering a lifelong culture of kindness, resilience, and inclusion. We are committed to creating a safer environment where every child feels valued, heard, and protected. Together, we can break the cycle and build a future free from bullying.

Bully Go Home: The Origin Story

How it began:

Bully Go Home was established in 2015 by Denise Fussell after a defining experience at a summer camp panel discussion. During the session, concerns were raised about two boys, ages 8 and 10, who had been persistently bullying other campers. The situation became so severe that one child was too upset to return the following day.

This incident opened Denise’s eyes to the profound emotional impact bullying can have on children, both those who are targeted and those who bully. During the discussion, she firmly stated, “Bullies-need to-go home.” That statement became the catalyst for the creation of Bully Go Home, dedicated to addressing and preventing bullying from an early age.

We can break the cycle by reaching children when they are young and teaching them that kindness is always the better option.

our VISION:

Training & Support:

Providing specialized training programs for counselors, educators, and community leaders to identify, prevent, and address bullying effectively.  Our training equips professionals with evidence-based strategies, trauma-informed approaches, and conflict-resolution techniques to support children in need.  Additionally, we offer a dedicated 24/7 hotline and online support services to provide immediate assistance, guidance, and crisis intervention for children, parents, and educators.  By fostering a network of trained advocates, we ensure that no child faces bullying alone.

Educational Resources:

Providing comprehensive, evidence-based materials designed to raise awareness, teach effective prevention strategies, and equip children, parents, educators, and communities with the tools to combat bullying.  Our resources include interactive workshops, digital learning platforms, and age-appropriate multimedia content that empowers children to recognize, prevent, and respond to bullying.  We also offer tailored materials for schools and community organizations to create lasting change in bullying prevention and intervention efforts.

Empowerment through the Arts:

Theater & Role-Playing:  Interactive skits and role-playing exercises help children understand different perspectives, practice assertive communication, and develop empathy.

Music & Songwriting:  Encouraging kids to express their emotions and experiences through music, helping them build confidence and resilience.

Dance & Movement Therapy:  Using dance as a form of self-expression, stress relief, and a confidence booster to help children overcome fear and anxiety related to bullying.

Visual Arts & Storytelling:  Allowing children to convey their experiences, emotions, and coping strategies through painting, drawing, or storytelling.

Spoken Word & Poetry:  Giving kids a voice to share their thoughts, emotions, and experiences powerfully and creatively, fostering self-empowerment.

Mental Health Advocacy:  Championing mental health support to ensure every child feels safe, valued, and empowered. We are committed to breaking the stigma around seeking help, and providing the necessary resources so no child suffers in silence.
